We are proud to announce a partnership with Friends of West Side Swim Club.
Friends of West Side Swim Club was formed with the mission of “Supporting access and sustainability of swimming on the south-west side of Madison at West Side Swim Club”. As a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, this means you can give a tax-deductible charitable donation to Friends of West Side Swim Club to help fulfill its mission.
Friends of West Side supports WSSC through two main facets:
- Financial assistance for families who may otherwise not be able to afford a full membership.
- Raising funds for capital improvements to the pool.
What is a capital improvement to the pool?
It may take many forms from new lighting to replacing pool equipment like pumps or heaters. Currently, fundraising efforts are focused on the eventual rebuilding of the pool walls. These walls are 30 years old and will need to be redone in the near future. Estimates for this work are between $500,000 and $1,000,000. By fundraising now we can reduce or remove the burden on families and ensure that the legacy of West Side Swim Club will continue into the future.
How can you help?
- With a large donation, have your family or loved ones formally recognized at the pool by naming swim club features like the lap lanes, diving boards, front desk or snack shack. We are even exploring a naming extension for the pool name (i.e. West Side Swim Club). If you are interested in learning more, reach out to us by using our contact form.
- The Fourth of July party provides a great opportunity to help raise funds by donating and/or bidding on auction items.
- Become a Gold Level sponsor and get your logo on a banner on the pool fence and on the WSSC website.
- Purchase a Gold Name Plate for display at the pool.
- Cash donations.
