We love west side. Could you ever offer adult swim lessons? I am more of a beginner swimmer, but I would like to learn how to swim just like my kids.

We love it. Not sure—maybe somehow more shaded areas over the pool/kids pool?

We are very happy!

i have no comment about how it could be improved. y'all are doing a great job this season on staff and facility.

Cold cans of sparkling water at the snack shack!

You could communicate emergencies by email.

have quick button on website for reservations/sign up. also, the calendar for lap swim reservation on my android phone is very out of sync and hard to follow. Do love the reservation set-up for lap swim

Re vamp the changing rooms. Have a family bathroom. I have a disabled daughter who's getting older and it would be nice if dad could take her to the bathroom every now and again without it being weird for others.

I can't rank those since I am taking survey on my phone
1) Water Ballet
2) Swim Team
3) Youth Teen night
Love it here. How can you apply to work for Westside? We couldn't find it on the website. My daughter would love to work there someday.

I’m anew member, and I joined for water aerobics. It would be nice to know more about where to go what to do.

Keeping the place clean would be great!!

LOVE IT!!

Refund membership dues that were charged in duplicate because of your new computer system. Refund the money in a timely fashion. This Friday marks 4 weeks since I was overcharged. Still waiting for my refund.

Improve the surrounding...take away the buckets of "mosquito" water by the basketball hoop. Quicker concession service.

Emails once a month to two weeks as needed in the summer months.

We really enjoy Westside.

Chicken sandwiches or quesadillas in snack shack (frozen… warm in microwave?)

Less stressful/time sensitive swim lesson sign ups.

Keep being awesome!

Gaga ball area or another deck game? Better BB hoop?

You didn’t ask to rank the water aerobics but that’s pretty great too.

I’ve only been there once so far, but didn’t notice anything was lacking. Well, maybe a roof on the changing rooms.

As the parent of a lifeguard, prioritize an increase in guard pay. It's not competitive with other All City pools (Goodman guard pay starts at $17, Nakoma starts at $16, etc). Maddie is choosing a different second job instead of taking more hours at Westside.
Otherwise it's great! I love the events. Love slackline & water aerobics options.

This is our first year. Were very excited! Everyone has been great and appreciate volunteer effort to make this place great! I also appreciate this email and survey.

Welcome packet for new members could be automated and improve communication. Contain info to mail check and next steps on getting thing processed / explain fun meter scale / wifi password / signup for lessons / signup for swim team (how many accounts are needed). Swim team welcome packet could be sent before parent meeting with info on what gear is needed for practice/meet, what is a typical practice day. Great information in the parent meeting last week!

The order of event for swim team could be improved like parent meeting before first preswim practice and ordering gear after parent meeting so new members dont miss out.

Store with gear/swag would be cool. I would buy a long sleeve and short sleeve shirt.

I dont use socials. Would appreciate email to communicate pool closure for open swim or swim team.

For some reason the front desk cant find me when I sign in and Im not recieving swim team emails even though I have 2 accounts.

I dont see these as big things just minor stuff to help improve. Thank you for your effort to make this place great!

Shade sail over the kiddie pool area. My 2 year old loves that space!

Allow guests more than 10 times
More snack shack offerings

The events question was hard to negotiate.

If there are rules that are important id like them to be kindly respected. For ex. If it’s busy I’d like to have a chaise lounge before a child. I don’t think eating on the deck is great when there are tables at snack shack. It’s dangerous to ignore kids crossing lap lanes to get to dive wells while adults are swimming laps.
That’s all I’ve been a member for 31 years and I know Westside is the best pool, I tell families frequently!

We love WSSC and would not change a thing!

As a new member, I had a lot of questions that maybe could be stored on the website somewhere. I did look around the FAQs and had a hard time finding specific information, like are the swim lessons every single day. Also, whether it's required to get team swimsuits. People were super nice getting back to me though via email. It would be great too for new members to have the option to have a "try out" to see if a child is ready for swim team or still needs to be in Little Dolphins.

I wish we had a card that gets scanned when we arrive. You would have hard data on who is there, and better tracking of who shows up for their lap lane sign up times. Otherwise, I love you guys! What a great community.

We love the vibe at West Side! There's little I would change.
That said!...
On-demand/tankless water heaters for the showers would be awesome for better temperature consistency and times when demand is high and the tanks are drained.
I'd also like to see some better signage or enforcement of food rules. It's unclear to me what is allowed on the deck. I sometimes see kids with ice cream etc. in the deck area (which I don't *think* is allowed), and it makes it hard to tell my kids that they can't do that when nobody enforces it.

30 min increments is hard to get any productive lap swimming done. But it does allow more people to lap swim. There are a few swimmers I’ve met that do not mind sharing a lane. But the new reservation system does not show people’s names. It was helpful to know who was lap swimming

Physical facilities quite aged

I couldn’t get the activities I am interested in to rank, but they would be
1 Dive team
2 Ballet
3 4th of July party

Pool changes could be sent via text or email blast

Was not able to rank events/offerings, either on my phone or laptop. Most interested in the parties, water fitness (I know, not on the list and slack line (again not on the list).

Re: communication. I prefer Facebook, but I know everyone does not. I guess the most important thing is to choose one way of communicating, let members know this is the way WSSC will communicate to members and actually use this method. Earlier this week I had done a Facebook message asking why Slack Line and Log Rolling we not on the web Daily Calendar when it appears every other activity is. I also suggested that it would have been nice to post on Facebook that Monday was the first day of Water Fitness. I know there was some confusion regarding the actual start date. The response was that I should be using the "printable calendar." While I like this one page listing of all activities this summer, I also think ALL activities should be on the daily calendar. I was also told that Social Media is run by volunteers and that some people don't use social media so you won't be relying on frequent postings which may not always be feasible. Again, we just need to know how you will officially be communicating with members.

I would also like to thank you for the new diaper policy and hope it is enforced. It was so dissapointing last year to have so many closures due to poop.

Cleaner bathrooms, consistent Snack Shack coverage

More and darker/better shade options that really block the UV rays would be great. The white ones still let the rays through

BTW - I wasn't able to use the rankings on the above events from my Mac

I would love to see an earlier open swim option

Thanks for making the West Side Swim Club such a fantastic place to be. I am new to the club and particularly appreciate . . .
(1) that the club stays open for swimming, even if it might not be "ideal" swimming weather (e.g., a little drizzle or under 70 degrees); and
(2) that I can reserve a lap lane.
Keep up the great work!

The water aerobics is great! This is vey important to my family and morning lap swimming.

Is it possible to send text messages for pool update (hour changes/close early)?

Cleaner bathrooms and shower space. Make sure when the flags are down that there’s a sign in place. Two years ago I hit my head doing backstroke because there were no flags. Then last year one day I still saw the flags down and no warning for swimmers. Please make sure there’s a cone or warning sign if the flags have to come down for some reason. Thanks.

Text or email pool issues, closures.

Add a water yoga class for adults. The aerobics class is great, but water yoga is therapeutic.

We love it here! The only thing my husband and I can think of, if there was room for it in future budgeting/the bigger improvement project, is replacing chairs. Which we realize is a big expense, but could definitely improve the member experience! Other than that we just love the chill atmosphere and how it's a fun, safe place to take our kids. The staff and team are amazing!

More shaded chairs. Bathrooms could use an update.

Temperature adjustable showers. Jon Spencer at WSSC for all hours the pool is open (hahahaha...jk, sort of, we really love him!). Registration (especially teams) more user friendly. West Side is the best side...these are nit picky things.

It would be nice if the lap swim sign ups could be limited to a week at a time. Right now, the 1230pm-115pm slots are signed up for several weeks ahead. This is not fair to those of us who would like those slots, and were not aware that the new sign up system would allow people to sign up weeks in advance instead of weekly like it was done before. Otherwise, I love, love, love the pool.

I am glad to see the new google group--I hope timely announcements (ie weather closures or event changes/cancellations) will be announced there.

I wish there was a way for families with daytime working parents to participate in swim and dive clubs. Evening lessons are very appreciated and the top reason we are WSSC members.

We love the informal, friendly atmosphere.. Weekly events like slack line and noodles nights are a favorite.

I am pretty disappointed with the quality of lessons. I have one in toddler level and one in Level 1. The toddler “lesson” is basically just free swim. Nothing gets taught. There are no skills practice or organization. There really is no lesson. The teacher (Avi) is sweet and supportive of the kids, but doesn’t teach anything. Sometimes she take one of the kids to the other side of the pool but only spend her time with that one kid during the lesson. This week a mom came and said, “I don’t have to get in so I?” Avi said no. So now Avi only takes care of that child the whole time. What little attention she was giving to the others is now given to this one child. What applies to one, should apply to all. I have done lessons at Swim West so I know what a toddler class should look like. I don’t know if the teachers need more oversight or more training or if this teacher has gone rogue. I am not getting what was advertised. I was hoping to have an annual membership until my kids were adults, but the lack of training for the teachers us making me rethink that.

I wish that there was a "no thong" rule......my son(and husband-lol?) was a little caught off guard last week on one of the open swim times.

Things are pretty good this year. Love the new entryway/pergola. Any way the pool chairs could be washed at least every week? They are pretty dirty (actually some are downright gross) right now.

Lessons have been a bit less engaging with the newer staff. We’ve watched then struggle to tell the kiddos what to do and keep them engaged for the time

One more thing that has come to my attention…..would it be possible to suggest a rule that long hair be required(heavily suggested)to be pulled back, or somewhat contained, in a ponytail? I have noticed a lot of hair in the pool and it kind of grosses me out.
….I know I’m not alone on this suggestion, as I have heard it in many conversations.
Thank you!!!

I liked last years pace on emails, reminding about swim lesson sign ups as they got closer and also the events. I couldn't select priorities for events in the browser but I would say that the ice cream social, swim lessons, movie night and youth nights are our most attended/anticipated for our family. Thank you!
